  • Description

BEATLE-MANIA STRUCK BAVARIA TODAY, (THURSDAY) WHEN THOUSANDS OF SCREAMING TEENAGERS TURNED OUT AT MUNICH AIRPORT TO GREET JOHN, PAUL, GEORGE AND RINGO -- BRITAIN'S TOP POP GROUP -- WHO ARRIVED TO START A FOUR-DAY TOUR OF WEST GERMANY.

A STRONG FORCE OF BAVARIAN POLICE RINGED THE AIRPORT TO KEEP BEATLE FANS IN CHECK, AND EVEN A PSYCHIATRIST, DR. ROLF UMBACH, HAS BEEN CALLED IN TO ADVISE OF METHODS TO PREVENT HYSTERICAL TEENAGERS TEARING MUNICH APART DURING THE BEATLES TWO PERFORMANCES TOMORROW.

DURING THEIR FOUR DAYS IN WEST GERMANY, THE BRITISH POP IDOLS WILL GIVE CONCERTS IN MUNICH, ESSEN AND HUMBURG. EVERY TICKET HAS BEEN SOLD, AND THERE IS A BRISK TRADE IN BLACK MARKET TICKETS.

OVER 200 POLICE WILL BE ON DUTY EACH TIME THE GROUP TAKES THE STAGE, AND SOME WILL SIT BETWEEN THE AUDIENCE AND THE BEATLES TO PREVENT ANY MASS ASSAULT BY TEENAGERS ON THE STAGE.
