    GEORGE KNUDSON OF CANADA WON THE INDIVIDUAL TITLE AFTER A PLAY-OFF AGAINST HIDEYO SUGIMOTO OF JAPAN. BOTH HAD FOUR ROUND FIGURES OF 272. AFTER GAINING EQUAL SCORES ON THE FIRST PLAY-OFF HOLE A SECOND WAS PLAYED. SUGIMOTO PLAYED THE HOLE WITH A PAR SCORE BUT KNUDSON PLAYED ONE UNDER PAR TO WIN THE TITLE. JACK NICKLAUS HAD AN INDIVIDUAL TOTAL OF 273 WHICH WAS EQUALLED BY LU LIANG-HUAN OF TAIWAN WHO CAME CLOSE TO BREAKING THE COURSE RECORD IN YESTERDAY'S FINAL WITH A ROUND OF 65 - ONE OUTSIDE THE PRESENT RECORD.

    THE TROPHIES WERE PRESENTED AT THE COURSE YESTERDAY BY PRINCE HITACHI AND PRINCESS HANAKO.
