Background: Princess Anne had a busy day in Hong Kong on Wednesday (27 October). Formalities took up most of the morning, but the Princess managed a visit to a Save the Children Fund centre -- of which she is president.
In the afternoon, enormous government resettlement blocks for people from slums and shanty towns were on Princess Anne's schedule. In one bloc she visited homeless and abandoned children.
Later, she visited the ancient Chinese temple of Man Lo, named after two Chinese gods of about 200 A.D. It was there that she had her fortune read with fortune sticks--numbered pieces of bamboo.
