  • Description

It had never been any excuse for a speeding motorist to claim that he 'didnt notice' the restriction sign, or that he 'didn't realise he was exceeding the limit'. It's even less of an excuse now in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Wiesbaden traffic patrol cars are now equipped with devices the SHOW the motorist exactly what he is doing and to make him stop and explain (if he can).

The main device is an outside speedometer, set on top of the police car cabin. The speeding motorist gets a very pointed indication of his offence.

Then there's a large hand-signalling indicator which no motorist could fail to see:-this tells him to stop. And for the chap who may be merely thinking about putting on speed, a large disc proclaiming the speed limit, glares at him from the rear of the police car.
