    THE USS OKLAHOMA CITY, FLAGSHIP OF VICE-ADMIRAL ROY L. JOHNSON, COMMANDER OF THE UNITED STATES SEVENTH FLEET, HAS DROPPED ANCHOR AT PORT SWETTENHAM, SOUTHWEST OF MALAYA, ON NOVEMBER 19 FOR A FOUR-DAY INFORMAL VISIT.

    THE 15,000-TON GUIDED MISSILE CRUISER EMBARKS 130 OFFICERS AND 1,100 ENLISTED MEN. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME VICE-ADMIRAL JOHNSON AND OKLAHOMA CITY ARE VISITING MALAYSIA.

    THE SEVENTH FLEET IS THE WORLD'S LARGEST FLEET. MADE UP OF 125 SHIPS, 650 AIRCRAFT AND 64,000 PERSONNEL, IT PATROLS AN AREA OF 30 MILLION SQUARE MILES OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN. MORE THAN A BILLION AND A HALF PEOPLE LIVE IN COUNTRIES ORDERING THE SEVENTH FLEET'S OPERATIONAL AREA.

    VICE-ADMIRAL JOHNSON LATER BOARDED A HELICOPTER FOR KUALA LUMPUR, THE MALAYSIAN CAPITAL, 22 MILES AWAY FROM THE PORT AND WAS MET AT THE AIRPORT BY MR. DONALD MCCUE, AMERICAN DEPUTY AMBASSADOR.

    SPEAKING TO NEWSMEN, VICE-ADMIRAL JOHNSON SAID THAT SEVENTH FLEET, WITH THE ARMED FORCES OF OTHER COUNTRIES, IS ACTING AS A DETERRENT AGAINST COMMUNIST EXPANSION IN SOUTH-EAST ASIA.
