    Background: Said to be one of the largest in the world, a ship's propeller weighing about 33 1/2 tons and with a diameter of just under 24 feet, was loaded into the Belgian Gotha Line ship "Belgia" at Rotterdam on Tuesday, 27th January for shipment to the Swedish port of Uddevalla.

    The propeller, cast in bronze at a foundry at Drunen, in Holland, is for a tanker of 65,000-tons which is being built at Uddevalla. It has five blades. It is stated to have cost some GBP25,000. A large floating derrick was used to lower it into the "Belgia's" hold.
