  • Description

GHANA AND ISRAELI HAVE SIGNED A TRADE AGREEMENT IN ACCRA AIMED AT EXTENDING THE EXCHANGE OF GOODS BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES.

THE AGREEMENT HAS SIGNED YESTERDAY (FRIDAY) BY MR. F.W. BEECHAM, PRINCIPAL SECRETARY AT THE GHANA MINISTRY OF TRADE, AND MR. JOSEPH KATZ, CONTROLLER OF FOREIGN CURRENCY AT THE ISRAELI FOREIGN MINISTRY. THE SIGNING OF THE AGREEMENT CAME AFTER THREE DAYS OF DISCUSSIONS BETWEEN GHANAIAN AND ISRAELI OFFICIALS IN ACCRA.

FIVE ISRAELI OFFICIALS HAVE BEEN TAKING PART IN THE DISCUSSIONS WITH GHANAIAN TRADE OFFICIALS. THEIR CIRCCUSSION OPENED ON TUESDAY AT THE MINISTRY OF TRADE BUILDING IN ACCRA, WHERE THEY WERE FORMALLY WELCOMED BY MR. BEECHAM.

AS WELL AT THE AGREEMENT ON TRADE, THE ISRAELI AND THEIR GHANAIAN COUNTERPARTS HAVE BEEN EXAMINING EXISTING AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES. ISRAEL ALREADY HAS ASSISTED GHANA BY ESTABLISHING AGRICULTURAL PROJECTS.

THE NEW AGREEMENT REPLACES A FORMER AGREEMENT ON TRADE WITH GHANA SIGNED TEN YEARS AGO.

THE ISRAELI DELEGATES NEXT GHANA LAST NIGHT. A GHANIAN DELEGATION IS TO MAKE A RECIPROCAL VISIT TO ISRAEL AT A FUTURE DATE.
