  • Description

Australians in London had a technicolor view of life in the outback at the London premiere of the Australian film, "The Sundowners," Jan 12.

The film tells of the adventures of a family of three in a covered wagon who drive their "mob" - huge herds of Marino sheep - from pasture to shearing station, year in, year out.

Among those present at this European gala show were Peter Ustinov who plays the part of an outsider content to satisfy his wanderlust by following the family and the drovers in their 400-mile trek with the herds; the producer of the film, Gerry Blattner; actress Gladys Cooper; actor Paul Massie; Sir Herbert Wilcox and Anna Neagle; author of the film story, Jon Cleary; Dick Bentley; actor David Knight; and Sir William Slim, former Governor-General of Australia.
