  • Description

Argentine pianist, Jorge Cutini, likes to keep several pets around his house. However, the fact that they are lions deterred many of his friends from visiting him. So he decided to build a zoo.

SYNOPSIS: A sign warns visitors to the zoo to stay in their cars -- a necessary precaution because the lions are allowed to roam free inside a huge fenced area.

As wells as 25 lions, Mr. Cutini also has elephants, Bengal tigers, bears, chimpanzees, monkeys and llamas and other large cats in his private zoo. He decided to build the game reserve rather then get rid of the eight lions he then had as pets. It is sited on ten acres (4 hectares) of land about 50 miles (80 kilometres) from Buenos Airea.

Cutini started with eight-lions and seven flamingoes, two bears and a llama which he borrowed from several friends who also shared his love of animals. He now has about 150 animals in his reserve.

Cutini likes to play with his animals and entertains visitors with his frolics with the big cats that run wild in the zoo. The shows encourage people to come to Cutini's private reserve and thus help him to maintain it. He has enlisted local people to work in the zoo -- even though they were more used to dealing with domesticated cows, horses and sheep - and now has ten caretakers working for him.
