  • Description

A group of French publishers on a three-day visit to Jordan, during which they will visit Jericho, Jerusalem and Bethlehem, heard some frank opinions from Jordan Premier Hazza Majali in Amman, May 4.

He told them that two main obstacles to Franco-Arab friendship were Algeria and the Palestine question: France should acknowledge the principles of her great revolution of 1789 in dealing with Algeria, permitting free elections and self-determination. Mr. Majali then said France should cease all military aid to Israel. (French 'Mystere' jets have played an important part in Israeli air supremacy in the Middle East).

    M. Archambault thanked the Premier on behalf of the party, which left the government offices to continue sightseeing. They leave for Beirut, Lebanon, May 7.
