    GHANA'S MILITARY HEAD OF GOVERNMENT, GENERAL JOSEPH ANKRAH, RETURNED HOME ON FRIDAY FROM THE ORGANISATION OF AFRICAN UNITY SUMMIT IN ADDIS ABABA. EN ROUTE, HE CALLED ON KENYA'S PRESIDENT JOMO KENYATTA AND STOPPED OVER IN UGANDA TO SEE PRESIDENT MILTON OBOTE.

    GENERAL ANKRAH WAS FAREWELLED FROM ADDIS ABABA BY THE ETHIOPIAN HEAD OF STATE, EMPEROR HAILE SELASSIE. HE FLEW TO THE KENYA CAPITAL, NAIROBI, AND WAS GIVEN A RED CARPET RECEPTION AT THE AIRPORT.

    PRESIDENT JOMO KENYATTA, MEMBERS OF HIS CABINET, AND THE GHANA HIGH COMMISSIONER TO KENYA, MR. APPAH-SARPON, WELCOMED GENERAL ANKRAH. THE NATIONAL LIBERATION COUNCIL CHAIRMAN INSPECTED A GUARD OF HONOUR MOUNTED BY A DETACHMENT OF THE FIRST BATALLION KENYA RIFLES.

    AT ENTEBBE AIRPORT IN UGANDA, GENERAL ANKRAH WAS MET BY A PARTY LED BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS, DR. BABUMBA. THEN TO THE STATE HOUSE WHERE GENERAL ANKRAH TALKED FOR 40 MINUTES WITH PRESIDENT MILTON OBOTE.

    ON HIS RETURN TO HIS CAPITAL, ACCRA, THAT NIGHT, GENERAL ANKRAH SAID GHANA WOULD CONTINUE TO PRESS FOR THE RETURN OF 85 NATIONALS NOW IN GUINEA.

    IN A BRIEF STATEMENT, HE REITERATED HIS GOVERNMENT'S REASONS FOR RELEASING 19 GUINEANS TAKEN OFF A LAGOS-BOUND AIRCRAFT WHEN IT PASSED THROUGH ACCRA ON OCTOBER 29TH.

    GENERAL ANKRAH ALSO MADE A BRIEF VISIT TO LAGOS, NIGERIA, EN ROUTE.
