    The Egyptian Prime Minister, Doctor Aziz Sidky, left Cairo on Monday (16 October) for Moscow, for talks with Soviet leaders on the state of affairs between the two nations.

    On the eve of Doctor Sidky's departure, President Anwar Sadat said Egypt would exert every effort to overcome "the extraordinary circumstances in its relations with the soviet Union."
    Doctor Sidky's visit is the first contact an Ministerial level between the two countries since 20,000 Soviet military advisers were ordered to leave Egypt last July.

    Since then relations between Egypt and the Soviet Union have been poor, although ambassadors form both sides have recently returned to their posts after being withdrawn for about two months.

    Doctor Sidky is leading a powerful delegation which includes the Economy minister, Mohamed Abdullah Marzaban; the Interior Minister, Mamdouh salem; the deputy War Minister, Lieutenant-General Hassan Abdel Kader and the head of Egypt's intelligence strived, Ahmed Ismail.

    SYNOPSIS: Just before Doctor Sidky's departure, President Anwar Sadat told the People's Assembly that Egypt would exert every effort to overcome what he called the "extraordinary circumstances" in Egypt's relations with the Soviet Union. President Sadat said that Soviet-Arab relations were strategic for Egypt and he wanted Doctor Sidky's mission in Moscow to be a success.

    The Egyptian Prime Minister's visit to the Soviet Union is the first Ministerial contact between the two countries for three months. His party includes the Ministers for Economy and the Interior, the deputy War Minister and Egypt's intelligence chief.
