    ARAFAT: "There is an American, Israeli bloc conspiracy against our revolution and over people. They are insisting -- smash our revolution. This strong and hard attacks which are planned from America, from imperialism, from Judaism. At what lengths they are pushing our people. To what? Definitely we shall not yield. To accept their conspiracy against our people? Definitely not. To accept their resolution to smash our people? Definitely not. We will continue in our fighting definitely. And we know that they will try to prevent us from continuing the revolution. But I am declaring hereby in the name of these freedom fighters, by the name of our people, by the name of the Palestinian that we will continue in struggling, in our struggle. We will continue in our fight pertaining to our homeland."

    The Palestinian leaders re-elected Yasser Arafat as chairman of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation organisation (P.L.O.)
    An official statement issued at the end of Friday's final session said the 155-member council pledged 'to the whole Arab Nation to be faithful to the souls of the martyrs and to follow their footsteps along the path of martyrdom and liberation.'
    The statement added: 'The Council pledges to continue armed struggle until the liberation of Palestine.'
    The Council, which began its eleventh session at the Arab League Headquarters in, Cairo a week ago, paid tribute to 'all those who fell for the sake of liberating Palestine and to the thousands of Palestinians imprisoned in occupied Palestine and in Jordan.'
    The delegates represented all levels of Palestinian society in the council which amounts to a Palestinian Parliament in exile.
