Background: The Hotel Roi Soleil was completely destroyed by fire at St. Moritzbad, near St. Moritz in Switzerland, yesterday 15 January (Friday).
Most of the 300 guests were out skiing. The 160 people who work in the hotel managed to escape.
The Hotel Roi Soleil is a six-storey building owned by the Club Mediterranee, the French holiday agency.
The fire broke out in mid morning. Most of the area's firemen were working on a ski-run at the time. They had to break the ice on swimming pools to get water to fight the blaze.
