Background: King Hussein wore pilot's denims, when he greeted his mother Queen Zain on her return by air to Amman Nov 20 from her month-long vacation in Switzerland.

The King had earlier flown a Vampire Jet fighter plane over the Syrian border to escort the Queen Mother into Jordan. His jet plane touched down first at Amman airport, giving him time to head the welcoming party but not to change to formal clothes.

The Queen Mother was accompanied by King Hussein's two year old daughter Princess Alia, his brother the Crown Prince, and his sister Princess Basmah.

Earlier this week Crown Prince Mohammed flew from London to Switzerland for the return journey to Jordan.
