    Background: Sri Lanka's Prime Minister, Mrs. Sirimavo Bandaranaike arrived in New Delhi, India, on Tuesday (13 April) for a two-day visit.

    Mrs. Bandaranaike was on her way home from a visit to Yugoslavia. The main purpose of her stopover was to discuss preparations for the Non-Aligned Nations' Summit to be held in Colombo in August with her Indian counterpart, Mrs. Indira Gandhi.

    A proposed meeting of Asian non-aligned countries to be held in Sri Lanka before the summit was also discussed during the talks.

    Mrs. Bandaranaike and her party were met at New Delhi airport by Mrs. Gandhi and her Foreign Minister, Mr. Yeshwantrao Balwantrao Chavan.

    In an informal talk with newsmen later int he day, Mrs. Bandaranaike said that some countries did not like he idea of non-alignment, but if the non-aligned states remained united no threat would work against them.
