    Costa Rica President, Jose Figueres, has come out in support of financier Robert Vesco, who is now operating out of Costa Rica and the Bahamas. A warrant for the arrest of Mr. Vesco was issued in New York on Monday (21 May) on a charge of conspiracy.

    Mr. Vesco, the financier who took over Bernard Cornfeld's ailing Investors Overseas Services in 1971, is said to have contributed 200-thousand dollars (80-thousand pounds starling) to President Nixon's 1972 campaign funds.

    President Figueras, of Costa Rica, told NBC reporter Tom Streithorst on Monday (May 21), that Mr. Vesco was welcome in Costa Rica, where his investments are sound.
