Background: Her Majesty Queen Juliana of the Netherlands received a hearty welcome from workers and officials when she paid a visit to a large cable factory at Delft today.
In the new laboratory, which the Queen's visit officially inaugurated, new insulation material will be tested and completed cables fully tried out under working conditions. For this purpose extremely high voltages are necessary, varying from 30,000 to 1,400,000 volts. These pictures show high voltages being passed through sections of table.
After spending a considerable time in the laboratory and listening to descriptions by engineers and scientists, Her Majesty Queen Juliana made a tour of the main manufacturing areas of the factory.
