    J. William Fulbright, Senator from Arkansas, USA, was present when 'USS Little Rock' (named for the capital of Arkansas State) was re-commissioned as a guided missile light cruiser, Philadelphia, June 3.

    Conversion of 'USS Little Rock' - first built in 1945 - took 3 years; her principle armament is the supersonic 'Talos' missile, the US Navy's longest range surface-to-air missile designed to bring down enemy aircraft; in practice shoots it has destroyed planes 65 miles off.
