LONDON COUTURIER JOHN CAVANAGH TODAY (FRIDAY) REVEALED SOME OF HIS NEW IDEAS FOR THE AUTUMN. THE FIRST WAS A SUIT IN BRIGHT JADE GREEN WITH AN OCELOT COLLAR.

THIS TWO-PIECE WAS YOUNG AND GENTLY SHAPED WITH A FLARED SWINGING SKIRT. THE FUR-COLLARED JACKET HAD A TIE OF ITS OWN FABRIC AT THE NECK. THE OUTFIT WAS TOPPED BY A SMART LITTLE HAT IN BRIGHT RED LEATHER.

AN OVERCOAT IN WHITE BASKET-WEAVE WOOL WITH A NUTRIA (COYPU'S FUR) COLLAR AND CUFFS. THE COAT WAS SLIM AND STRAIGHT HANGING AND THE HIGH BODY EMPHASIS WAS MADE BY THE PLACING OF BUTTONS AND THE FOUR FLAT POCKETS. WITH IT A TUNIC DRESS IN BLACK WORSTED CREPE TRIMMED WITH FRINGE. THE SOMBRERO HAT WAS IN BROWN VELVET AND LEATHER.

AND A SHAPED EVENING COAT IN BROWN AND BROWN CLOQUE BROCADE WAS COLLARED IN BROWN VELVET. DRESSED IN BROWN SILK CREPE OUT ENTIRELY ON THE BIAS AND EMPHASIZING THE LONG SLIM SILHOUETTE OF THE COLLECTION. IT HAD A HAT IN BROWN VELVET WITH WHITE TULLE AND OSTRICH TIPS.

A PLUNGE LINE FOR THE LATEST DINNER DRESS. IT WAS SHORT AND IN BRIGHT PINK SILK CLOQUE WITH A VERY DEEP NECKLINE AND A TONIC SKIRT. PINK IS STILL THE POPULAR COLOUR THIS YEAR DESPITE ITS SUCCESSFUL RUN IN 1963. THE HAT WAS IN BLACK SMOCKED TULLE.
