    1. The Knesset debate pointed up an apparent gap between need to get the Palestinians into the negotiations and the difficulty in doing so.

    A. Palestinians have ruled themselves out.

    2. The Israeli government has said it would not talk to the PLO.

    A. It's time the world began to look for new spokesmen for the Palestinians.

    3. Labour Party chairman has said that negotiations without the Palestinians cannot lead to peace.

    Egypt is the leader of the Arab world. If Egypt agrees to make peace, the others will agree. It is up to Egypt to bring them in.

    4. You have been invited to Cairo by Pres. Sadat. Is there any political significance in this invitation.

    Pres. Sadat knows of my position in the Labour Party and is aware of my moderate views. But I will consult the government before going to Cairo.
