    ZAMBIA AND MALAWI WILL DEAL WITH EACH OTHER IN FUTURE "IN A SPIRIT OF BROTHERLINESS AND GOOD NEIGHBOURLINESS" ACCORDING TO A JOINT COMMUNIQUE ISSUED IN BLANTYRE YESTERDAY (SUNDAY). IT CAME AT THE END OF A THREE-DAY VISIT TO MALAWI OF A DELEGATION LED BY THE FOREIGN MINISTER OF ZAMBIA, MR. REUBEN KAMANGA.

    WITH MR. KAMANGA WAS THE ZAMBIAN MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT, POWER AND COMMUNICATION, MR. SOLOMON KALULU. THEY MET PRESIDENT BANDA OF MALAWI TO DISCUSS DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES, AND MR. KAMANGA HANDED OVER A MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT KAUNDA.

    THE ZAMBIAN FOREIGN MINISTER SAID HE AND PRESIDENT BAND HAD AGREED THAT THE BEST WAY TO SOLVE AFRICA'S PROBLEMS WAS BY NEGOTIATION. THE COMMUNIQUE SAID THE DIFFERENCES IN APPROACH BETWEEN MALAWI AND ZAMBIA ON THE RHODESIA ISSUDE COULD COMPLEMENT RATHER THAN THWART ACTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM.
