    A special military display was staged in Taiwan for Saudi Arabia's King Feisal on Tuesday ( 18 May ). The 65-year-old King was on a four-day state visit to the country. The Arab monarch, accompanied by the chief of the Taiwan General Staff, drove the 25 miles ( 40 Kms ) southwest of Taipei to watch the hour-long exercise which involved air and ground forces.

    SYNOPSIS: A special military display was staged at this Taiwan exercise ground on Tuesday for King Feisal of Saudi Arabia who was on a four-day visit to the country. The Arabian monarch drove the 25 miles from the capital of Taipei for the display accompanied the Chief of the Taiwan General Staff.

    One purpose of the King's visit was to have a general exchange of views with President Chiang Kai Shek on world affairs.

    Taiwan Vice-President C.K. Yen was among those on the dias with the King.

    The demonstration included a fly-past by Taiwan aircraft.

    Earlier, President Chiang praised the Saudi King for his leadership and paid tribute to the stability, economic development and prosperity of his desert kingdom.

    The King also watched as soldiers performed a display of physical exercises. In reply to the President's statement, King Feisa blamed Communism and Zionism for mankind's sufferings. He said they destroy and slaughter in efforts to realise their expansionist dreams.

    The display also included parachutists.

    At the end of his visit, King Feisal was to leave for Japan.
