    Three Iranian Navy men, killed during Monday's landing on the disputed Gulf island of Greater Tunb, were given a state funeral in Teheran yesterday (Thursday). Large crowds, headed by government ministers and military leaders, watched the procession through the streets. Despite the mourning in the capital, there has been exhilaration throughout the country at the landings on Greater and Lesser Tunb--whose sovereignty is disputed by the Sheikhdom of Ras al Khamah. The islands were described s the "key to the Persian Gulf."
    SYNOPSIS: A state funeral in Teheran on Thursday. The ceremonials honoured the three Iranian Navy men who died during landings on the disputed Gulf island of Greater Tunb three days earlier. Greater and Lesser Tunb are both claimed by the sheikhdom of Ras al Khamah, whose police force opposed the Iranian landings. Four policemen were killed in the brief fighting, and five other people were injured. Ministers and military leaders led he thousands of mourners through the streets of Teheran-Floral tributes includes one from the Shah.

    The funeral ceremonies had been preceded by celebrations throughout Iran over the landings. One independent newspaper declared that, because of its Naval action, 'Iran now holds the key of the Persian Gulf in its hands". But it's also lost the key to good relations with Iraq. As a result of the landings, the Iraqi government broke off relations with Iran. And as the funeral ceremonies continued in Teheran on Thursday, Iraqi diplomats in the capital were given two weeks to leave the country.
