    Several African countries are among the 52 nation exhibiting at the Brussels International Fair which opened today (Wednesday 13th).

    For only the second time the Brussels Fair has been devoted exclusively to Household comforts, a trade section which has shown remarkable and spectacular development particularly over the past fifteen years.

    The 'Household Comforts", displayed at the fair include foodstuffs, electrical appliances, kitchen and heating hardware, and home decoration materials.

    The Lord-Mayor of Brussels, Mr. Cooremans, opened the fair and later made a tour of the stands accompanied by the Minister of African Affairs, Mr. Scheven, and other civic dignitaries.

    The Dahomey, Congo People Republic, Nigerian and Cameroun stands were among those visited by the official party.

    This year's exhibits reveal not only advances in the construction methods and technical details of Household Comforts, but also an increased awareness of pleasing designs and appearance.

    The participating African countries at the Brussels Fair have received wide praise alongside strong international competition.

    The 43rd Brussels International "Household Comfort Fair will remain open until next Sunday week (26th April).
