    Several arrests were made and some people were beaten up by Congolese military police when groups supporting ex-Premier Lumumba demonstrated outside United Nations headquarters in Leopoldville, JAN 5. Untied Nations troops watched the incidents but did not take action.

    The demonstration took place while United Nations Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjoeld, had talks on the Congo crisis with President Kasavubu and UN officials. Mr Hammarskjoeld was paying his third visit to the Congo since Independence Day, six months ago. He left for Pretoria, South Africa, the following day.
