Background: In Algiers Nov. 3 there were scuffles between small groups students. Police interviewed to keep order.
Cause of the trouble: "liberal" students refused to support a strike called by right-wing students.
The strike was staged as a demonstration of sympathy for those being tried in Paris following the European insurrection in Algiers last January, led by Pierre Lagaillarde.
The usual cries of "Algiers francaise" mingled with shouts of "Langaillarde to the gallows".
