Background: Holland's first drive-in banking counter for motorists was inaugurated by the Burgomaster of Hilversum, Mr. J. Boot, to-day the 22nd. October. The Burgomaster drove up to a "window-counter" at the Hilversum branch of the Netherlands Trading Company and took delivery of a cheque for a some of money given by the bank to the Netherlands Red Cross.
Following the Burgomaster's car were two others, a 1986 model De Dion Bouton and a very up to date modern car, the occupants of both also bad transactions to carry out at the drive-in counter.
