Background: A vocal group from Brazzaville in the People's Republic of the Congo has been invited to tour several countries at the end of this year. The group is "Les Anges", or the Angels. They'll be entertaining audiences in France, Nigeria, Canada and the United States. This year, the group was invited to the berlin Youth Festival - they returned to Brazzaville with a top prize in the competition for vocal groups.

The Angels started singing together 13 years ago, and played in local village social events. In the last two years the group has become semi-professional, helped by cultural jobs from the Government. The group's popularity increased when they went to Lagos this year to play at the Second All African Sports Games. A song recorded at the Games reached the top of the selling charts in Nigeria as did a long playing record released later.
