ABOUT 200 OF THEM MARCHED THROUGH THE HEART OR ROME INTO PARLIAMENT SQUARE, CHANTING "FREE VIETNAM" AND CARRYING NORTH VIETNAMESE FLAGS AND ANTI-AMERICAN PLACARDS. THEN SIGNOR DOLCI HANDED IN A PETITION TO PARLIAMENT PRESIDENT, SIGNOR BRUNETTO BUCCIARELLI DUCCI.

    THE PETITION CALLED FOR A HALT TO U.S. BOMBING IN VIETNAM, RECOGNITION OF THE VIET CONG NATIONAL LIBERATION FRONT AS THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE SOUTH VIETNAMESE PEOPLE, AND A BAN OF MILITARY ALLIANCES.

    EATING AND SLEEPING WHERE EVER THEY COULD, THE MARCHERS STOPPED IN 26 TOWNS ON THEIR 375 MILE (600 KMS) MARCH. THEY ALSO HELD OPEN-AIR DEBATES ON THE VIETNAM CONFLICT, WORLD PEACE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.
