Before today's Tunis conference of the Algerian National Liberation Front (F.L.N.), Moroccan Prime Minister, Mr. Ahmed Balafrej, left Casablanca for a lighting, one-day talk with Gen. de Gaulle in Paris. The general is said to be trying to conciliate Morocco and Tunisia over his plans for Algiers and his talk with Mr. Balafrej was part of the campaign. Another significant move was made at the weekend, when the decision was made to evacuate 10 French military posts in Morocco. The presence of French troops in Morocco and Tunisia is said to be one of the main causes of tension.
Mr. Balafrej left Casablanca shortly after the three-day visit to Morocco of Ghana Prime Minister Mr. Nkrumah. He was accompanied by Mr. Bouabid, Minister for National Economy, and Mr. Jaidi, head of the Africa-Levant division at the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Today's Tunis conference of the F.L.N. leaders was being watched anxiously by France.
