    Background: A West German film studio in Accra, Ghana, was handed over to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation at a formal ceremony on Saturday (10 March).

    The Vice-President of the organisation, Mr. Heinz Kuehn, who is the Prime Minister of Rhine-Westphalia state in West Germany, was at the ceremony.

    The studio, set up in Ghana seven years ago by agreement between the two Governments as the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation, will be used by the G.B.C. as a feature film unit.

    SYNOPSIS: Managing director, Mr. Weninger, made the opening speech and formally declared the handover of the organisation, the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation.

    The organisation's Vice-President, Mr. Heinz Kuehn, who is also the Prime Minister of Rhine-Westphalia state in West Germany, also spoke.

    Ghana's Commissioner for Information, Lieutenant-Colonel Benni, replied and thanked the Foundation for its work in setting up the studio seven years ago and training Ghanaian staff to run it.

    Some of the fifty trainee cameramen, scriptwriters, film directors and film editors received their qualification certificates at the ceremony.

    Mr. Siegfried Bangert, of the Foundation' international department, addressed the gathering after the certificate presentation and spoke about the Foundation's work. I the seven years since the organisation was set up under an agreement between the Ghanaian and West German governments, it ???s produced nearly two hundred educational films about Ghana's agriculture, economy and industry. it has also distributed more than two-hundred-and-fifty television sets to schools, colleges and other institutions through-???
