Mongolia's Foreign Minister, Mr. Lodongiyn Rinchin, arrived in India on Monday (17 November) for a five day visit.
He started his first day by laying a wreath at Mahatma Gandhi's memorial. Later, accompanied by his advisor, he called on the Indian Foreign Minister, Mr. Y.B. Chavan. There, through an interpreter, they discussed matters of mutual interest.
Mr. Rinchin was also due to call on the Indian Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi. He is expected to leave the country on November the 22nd.
The Mongolian Foreign Minister Mr. Lodongiyn Rinchin who arrived this morning, began his day by laying a wreathe at Mahatma Gandhi's memorial. Later alongwith his advisers he called on Indian Foreign Minister Mr. Y.B. Chavan at the later's office and discussed matters of mutual interest. Tomorrow Mr. Rinchin will formally call on Prime Minister Mrs. Gandhi. He is expected to leave India around November 22nd.
SYNOPSIS: The Minister of Foreign Affairs in Mongolia, Mr. Lodongiyn Rinchin, arrived in the Indian capital of Delhi on Monday. His first stop was the memorial of the famous leader Mahatma Gandhi, who dominated the Indian political scene until independence in nineteen forty-seven. There Mr. Rinchin laid a wreath and stood in silence as a mark of respect.
The next stop for Mr. Rinchin was the Foreign Ministry Office.
There he met his Indian counterpart the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Chavan. And the two men held talks through a woman interpreter.
They discussed matters of mutual interest to India and Mongolia. As well as visiting Mr. Chavan Mr. Rinchin was also to meet the Prime Minister, Mrs. Gandhi, before returning home on November the twenty-second.
