    A two-day athletics meeting between the Ivory Coast and Congo-Brazzaville opened last Saturday (27 March) in Abidjan. It was the first time since the African Games in Brazzaville in 1965 that the two countries have met. The finals took place on Sunday.

    SYNOPSIS: Meeting the athletics team of Congo-Brazzaville is the Minister of Sports of the Ivory Coast, M. Piot Doudou. It's the first time that the athletics teams of the two countries have met since 1965. The 110 metres hurdles.

    The winner....in 14.6 seconds... Yao Debremou, of the Ivory Coast.

    Congo-Brazzaville in the pole vault. Here in Abidjan there's been much talk about the low standard of pole vaulting at home. It's due above all to a lack of training facilities. Still the Congo.

    The 200 metres women....there are only two starters.

    Here's the 800 metres men. The winner was Silue Nahola of the Ivory Coast, in 1 minute 53.6.
