    More than 3,000 refugees have now crossed the border into the Irish Republic to escape the rioting in Northern Ireland's principal cities, Londonderry and Belfast. The Republic's government has opened seven camps for the refugees, who are mostly Catholics fleeing from a predominantly Protestant areas in Northern Ireland. Special trains have been carrying the steadily growing ???loud of humanity from the Irish border and there are coaches and more trains to take them to the camps. Nearly all of the refugees are women and children. Their husbands and older sons have stayed behind in the riot-torn North.

Special trains have been carrying the steadily growing flood of humanity from the Irish border.

    More than three-thousand people have crossed the border already and the numbers are still increasing. The Irish Red Cross has appealed for clothing and household items for them. The stream of travellers to the south started last Monday when severe rioting followed Northern Ireland Prime Minister Brian Faulkner's announcement of internment without trial for suspected terrorists.
