1 The very first to appear at 07.00hrs at one of the Jerusalem pooling stations were Mayor Teddy Kollek and former president Zalman Shazar followed by the President's car which brought Mr. Katzir, the present President of The State of Israel, who voted, both for the Knesset and for the Jerusalem Municipality at polling station # 137. Hadassah Hospital on the outskirts of Jerusalem saw a mobile army polling station. these wounded soldiers, just as every citizen of Israel, had to present his identification papers and was registered before, against drawn curtains or a mobile protective wall, and alone with himself, he could cast his vote, both for the knesset & his respective municipality, in complete secrecy. A double envelope, the outer one registering his name and place of residence as well as ID# and to be destroyed after a special sorting process, ensure that every soldier can vote but only once. - The same system is being applied to soldiers' voting like these soldiers and officers at the Headquarters of the Military Governor of Bethlehem.

2 At another polling station in Jerusalem PM Golda Meir came to cast her vote together with other citizens close to noon. There is no doubt who she voted for both for the Knesset and Jerusalem's Municipality, where Teddy Kollek has been the Labour party's most popular and successful Mayor and candidate for the next 4 years. In East Jerusalem amongst the Arabs, who as Jordanian citizens are only voting for the Municipality, except app, one hundred of them, who acquired Israeli citizenship during the last 6 years, voting was light. But contrary to many "progressive" Arab countries both women and men took advantage of their right and duty and none minded being photographed. This polling station was located at a school in Via Dolorosa next to the Courtyard, which marks the first station of the cross. Polling station supervisors included both Israelis and East Jerusalem Arabs, themselves Jordanians by nationality.
