Background: A large group of Danish Communists, between 2 - 3000 is one estimate, paraded this evening in protest against atomic weapons and the Nato Conference in Christiansborg, Copenhagen.

There were many speeches from factory workers' leaders in Copenhagen decrying the possibility of German troops being re-armed with atomic and rocket weapons.

Hundreds of police gathered around the city Hall where the meetings took place, and ensured that the demonstrators did not pass near the Christiansborg Castle, the location of the NATO conference.

There were many hoardings and bill boards pasted round the city bearing such slogans as DOWN WITH THE ATOM WEAPON, OUT OF NATO, DOWN WITH NATO.

The Communists dispersed themselves after an hour.
