    Even Joe Gunnar, Britain's modest European Heavyweight Champion is prepared to make a Mohammed Ali style prediction about Tuesday (October 2) night's fight against Italian bar owner Bepi Ros at London's Albert Hall.

    "I shall definitely beat him", says Joe, who has told his manager Andy Smith he will if he does not win.

    Andy has announced he will be disappointed if Joe does not stop his opponent and he added: "we didn't want this fight, but we had to defend the title or lose it."
    Ros was beaten by British heavyweight Carl Cizzi in Italy and London Six years ago. Carl's father. Don, has told Joe to "look for Bepi's limp - one leg is shorter than the other and he can't go back very quickly."
    Now 31 and four inches shorter than Bugner, Bepi is not the bookmakers favourite.

    Both man within a row pounds of sixteen stoop but the stocky Bepi admits he got there by spending most of his bar profits on pasta. Recently he has kept to a diet and he has now forced himself into the challenger's position.

    Bepi is sure of the power of his right book out he makes no predictions about the fight. However, he philosophizes that if the worst comes to the worst, he will still collect GBP16,000.

    Mr. Smith explains that he did not want the fight but refusal would have cost Bugner the title. Ros is not the favorite. At thirty-one he is eight years older than Bugner and four inches shorter. Both are within a few pounds of sixteen stone but Bepi admits he got there by spending most of his bar profits on pasta. Recently he has kept to a diet. But even if he loses he will still collect sixteen thousand pounds.

    Bugner training near his Huntingdon home, is supremely confident.
