SYNOPSIS: The Hungarian President Pal Losonczi flew into Brazzaville airport on Wednesday to begin a five-day visit to the Congolese People's Republic. He was welcomed at the airport by Congolese President Marian Ngouabi and other Government leaders.
A pleasing gesture at the airport from a representative of Congolese youth was the presentation of a scarf to the Hungarian President by a Congolese boy-scout. Later on the tarmac there was further ceremonial, as the two Presidents honoured the colours of the Congolese Army.
In the course of this official visit. the Hungarian Head of State made a number of calls in Brazzaville, meeting the people and local loaders. On Friday he travelled to the sugar-producing town of Jacob about 250 kilometres (155 miles) west of the capital. And later in his itinerary he was due to make a trip on the Congo river and visit the Port of Pointe Noir.
