SYNOPSIS: Victim of the latest unrest in Jordan was the vital pipeline to the country's only oil refinery at Zerka. The oil supply was cut off on Friday after a section of the line had been blown up. Jordanian authorities at once accused Palestinian Commandos of sabotage to the line, which feeds oil to the refinery from the main trans-Arabian pipeline. Engineers quickly got to work restoring the oil flow and supplies were resumed by nightfall.

At the same time as the blast, tension increased further when the Jordanian government reported a heavy artillery barrage from Syrian territory. Palestinian Commandos simultaneously claimed they had been in a three-hour battle with Jordanian troops near the Syrian border.
