Twenty-one-year-old Morito Kashiwabe, from Japan, became the 76th opponent defeated by the Mexican since he first entered the ring.
Arredondo quickly got the upper hand, and after two fairly confident rounds, challenger kashiwabe began to fade. However, Kashiwabe showed remarkable stamina to withstand a punishing attack by Arredondo in the third and fourth rounds. The real turning point of the bout came in round five. Kachiwabe no longer reacted to the champion's attack, and was saved by the bell.
Soon after the beginning of the sixth round, Kashiwabe collapsed on the ropes managed to struggle shakily to his feet, but it was all over. Referee James Rondeau stepped in... and stopped the fight.

Kashiwabe started out confidently, but began to slow down after two rounds. He took heavy punishment form the champion - especially in round three and four. In the fifth, the turning point came. Arredondo delivered three straight lefts to the challenger's jaw. They really shook kashiwabe... his defence became shaky, and he was saved only by the ball at the end of the round.
Kashiwabe did not recover. Soon after the beginning of round six, he collapsed on the ropes - and referee James Rondeau stopped the fight. For the crowd it was a disappointing show. An hou??? before they'd watched heavyweight champion George Foreman demolish Joe Roman in a ???ingle round.
