    THE SOUTH AFRICAN PREMIER, MR. JOHN VORSTER, YESTERDAY (TUESDAY) UNVEILED A MEMORIAL TO THE LEADER OF THE COUNTRY'S WARTIME PRO-GERMAN, ANTI-BRITISH ORGANISATION, THE OSSEWA-BRANDWAG (O.B.).

    MR. VORSTER WAS A "GENERAL" OF THE O.B. AT THE AGE OF 25 AND WAS INTERNED FROM SEPTEMBER, 1942 TO FEBRUARY, 1944. AND IS A SPEECH YESTERDAY HE GAVE NO HINT OF REGRET FOR HIS OPPOSITION TO THE BRITISH AND ALLIED WARTIME EFFORTS.

    HE SAID: "THERE ARE CERTAIN PETTY PEOPLE WHO FEEL AFFRONTED...AND BLAME ME FOR TAKING PART...AS PRIME MINISTER OF THIS COUNTRY".

    MR. VORSTER WENT ON: "WE ARE STANDING HERE TODAY AT THE FOOT OF THE GRAVE OF A MAN, SOMETHING I HAVE NEVER BEEN AFRAID TO DO. FOR MOST OF US PRESENT HERE TODAY, HANS VAN RENSBURG HAD BEEN A FRIEND AND A LEADER."
    DR. HANS VAN RENSBURG WAS COMMANDANT-GENERAL OF THE OSSEWA-BRANDWAG AND THE MEMORIAL ON HIS GRAVE IS IN THE FORM OF AN OX-WAGON WHEEL, REFLECTING THE MEANING OF THE ORGANISATION'S NAME "OX-WAGON SENTRY".

    MR. VORSTER ADDED IN HIS SPEECH: "A MAN MUST NEVER DISSOCIATE HIMSELF FROM HIS HISTORY OR BE ASHAMED OF IT. SUCH A MAN HAS NO FUTURE AND IS WORTH NOTHING IN A STRUGGLE OF FOR ANY NATION. FOR THIS REASON IT IS A PRIVILEGE FOR ME TO BE PRESENT HERE TODAY".
