Background: The Beaten Bruins upset the Los Angeles Kings last week by Beating the west Boast side eight points to the. It was the Los Angeles ice hockey team's first "away" defeat this eason.

The King's the goal occurred in the middle period. Los Angeles player Gene Carr lobbed from near the central-line and the puck hit Sruin g???plie Ross Orack's stick and bounced in. Until then it looked as if Brook would have a shut-out - the soaring move was one of only three goal attempts the King's made in the middle period.

The first goal was cored three Minutes into the game by the Brain's Kenny Hodge. Espoaitos got the second goal.

In the second period Greg Shepherd and Bobby Orr beth scored making it four more goals, two of them by Johnny Bucyk.

SYNOPSIS: Ice Hockey... and in Boston, Massachuseit last week the Los Angeles Kings suffered their first defeat away from home this season, going down to the Boston Bruins in light strip - eight to one. Hodges scored the first goal within three minutes of the start.

It looked as if the Kings would remain goal-less until Gene Carr lobbed from near the centre line. The puck hit goalie Ross Brook's stick and the west coasters had their firs-and???nly-point.

In the third period the Bruins reasserted themselves. They scored four more goals, two of them from the stick of Johnny Bucyk. The final scors again: Boston Bruins eight. Los Angeles Kings one.
