  • Description

Only a day after announcing martial law throughout South Vietnam, President Thieu brought in more restrictions. It was thought that he would close Saigon University which has been a haven for draft dodgers in the past few years. Students arrived unsure if there'd be classes or not. However, they were allowed to enter. Main topic of conversation on the campus was the new restrictions and measures taken by President Thieu. They include a lowering of the draft age which will affect many of the young men in the University. The curfew which has been in force in Saigon for many months has been extended and now runs from ten at night until five in the morning. Among other new measures is the banning of demonstrations and the handing of pamphlets which are anti-Government. The heart of Saigon will be dark. Noon lights will no longer be allowed, and bare have been closed. The restrictions will operate for an indefinite period.
