  • Description

An outbreak of Cholera is a new hazard confronting flood victims on the northern Philippine island of Luzon. Three weeks of floods have killed nearly 400 people, and many thousands are homeless and faced with starvation.

Some of the most dramatic coverage of the floods shows raging torrents tearing down houses near the principal American air-base at Clark Field.

Latest reports indicated that the floodwater are slowly receding in most areas. The chief problem is preventing disease. There are reports that four people have already died form cholera and another 1,700 are in hospital.
