    RED GUARDS IN THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA YESTERDAY (WEDNESDAY) DEMANDED THAT THE HEAD OF STATE, LIU SHAO-CHI, AND THE COMMUNIST PARTY SECRETARY-GENERAL, TENG HSIAO-PING, BE DISMISSED FROM OFFICE.

    THE RED GUARD DEMANDS APPEARED IN A 20-PAGE PAMPHLET POSTED SHEET-BY-SHEET ON WALLS IN SHOPPING STREETS IN WESTERN PEKING. THE SHEETS WERE ISSUED IN THE NAME OF THE RED GUARD ORGANISATION AT PEKING UNIVERSITY.

    THE SHEETS CHARGE THAT LIU SHAO-CHI AND TENG HSIAO-PING HAD CARRIED OUT AN "ANTI-PARTY" LINE AND OPPOSED CHAIRMAN MAO TSE-TUNG FOR MANY YEARS.

    OTHER POSTERS ISSUED BY THE RED GUARDS DENOUNCED TENG HSIAO-PING AS TAKING THE "BOURGEOIS ROAD" AND SAID MRS. WANG KUANG-MEI, WIFE OF LUI SHAO-CHI AND A DEPUTY TO THE NATIONAL PEOPLE'S CONGRESS, WAS FOLLOWING A BAD LINE.

    THE PAMPHLET QUOTED PASSAGES FROM SPEECHES MADE BY MR. LIU AND MR. TENG AT PARTY CONGRESSES IN 1945 AND 1956.

    SINCE THE COMMUNIST PARTY CENTRAL COMMITTEE PLENARY SESSION IN AUGUST, MR. LIU HAS BEEN DROPPED FROM SECOND TO EIGHT POSITION IN THE PARTY LISTINGS AND MR. TENG HAS BEEN DROPPED FROM HIS SEVENTH RANKING.
