    A large marble memorial commemorating the II Israeli athletes killed in an Arab guerrilla attack last September during the Olympic Games, was unveiled in Munich on Sunday morning (10 December). The plaque, bearing the names of the sportsmen in Latin and Hebrew scripts, is located in the forecourt of what was the Israeli team's quarters in the Olympic Village. It was donated by the Jewish community in Munich and the Central Council of Jews in Germany. During the ceremony, heavily armed police formed a tight cordon around the 100 West German and Israeli Olympic officials and other invited guests. Relatives of some of the victims also present.

    SYNOPSIS: Bullet marks in the wall of the Israeli team's Olympic Village apartments in Munich, bear witness to the Arab guerrilla attack in September which insulted in the deaths of II athletes.

    On Sunday, heavily-armed police formed a tight cordon around the Olympic Village, and Connolly Strasse in particular, as a crowd gathered nearby.

    In the forecourt of what was the Israeli team's apartments in the village, a large plain grey marble memorial to the dead athletes was unveiled in a simple but special ceremony.

    Wreaths had been placed ??? base of the memorial.

    Mr. Ben-Horin, Israeli's Ambassador to West Germany, among speakers at the Germany....as was the mother of Moths Weinberg, the wrestling coach who lost his life in the attack. Another speaker was Herr Willy Daume, President of the Olympic Organising Committee. The memorial was donated by the Jewish community in Munich and the Central Council of Jews in Germany.
