  • Description

French and Algerian negotiators resumed their talks in Paris today in the face of a public warning by Algerian President Houari Boumedienne that if France found his country's oil too expensive it could seek its supplies elsewhere. The meeting was the latest in a six-month-old round of negotiations aimed at working out a new bilateral oil agreement to replace Franco-Algerian agreements dating from 1965. The two main men at the talks are Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and the French Industry Development Minister Xavier Ortoli.
