    MORE THAN ONE THOUSAND PEOPLE YESTERDAY (FRIDAY) DEMONSTRATED OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES EMBASSY IN NEW DELHI IN PROTEST AGAINST AMERICAN AIR RAIDS IN NORTH VIETNAM, NEAR HANOI AND THE PORT OF HAIPHONG.

    THE DEMONSTRATION WAS ORGANISED BY THE INDIAN COMMUNIST PARTY AND OFFICIALS OF THE ALL INDIA TRADE UNION CONGRESS.

    THE DEMONSTRATORS CARRIED PLACARDS, AND AS THEY MARCHED OUTSIDE THE EMBASSY THEY SHOUTED ANTI-AMERICAN SLOGANS.

    THERE WAS A MONOR SCUFFLE BETWEEN SOME DEMONSTRATORS AND POLICE WHO WERE GUARDING THE ENTRANCE TO THE EMBASSY.

    THE ORGANISERS OF THE DEMONSTRATORS PREPARED A MEMORANDUM TO AMERICAN EMBASSY OFFICIALS, DESCRIBING THE LATEST AMERICAN AIR ATTACKS AS 'PIRACY', AND CALLING FOR THE WITHDRAWAL OF AMERICAN FORCES FROM SOUTH VIETNAM.
