  • Description

Yachtsmen from sailing clubs throughout the Federation make ready on the banks of Lake Sebakwe to take part in a full programme for the Que Que Sailing Club's 1938 Regatta. It's all a highly technical business, the slightest variations in boats and sails all designed to give the improved performance which makes the difference between victory and defeat. But there's far more than more equipment, there's the skill needed to extract the most out of it. Over three days, numerous events was sailed with several boats in each event. The results are not therefore vitally important. The main thing was the thrill the yachtsmen got out of it, and to the enthusiast there's nothing like it. They know what's going on even if the landlubbers are figuratively all at see. Regattas the world over look much alike, but they inspire the crown to do just a little better on each outing. All in all for participants it's a thrilling and for spectator certainly a picturesque sport.
